We’ve all done it: Skipped breakfast, the most important meal of the day.

For many of us, it’s a lack of time that makes us skip breakfast. Trying to balance between feeding the kids and getting dressed for the office or trying to make the bus for school can often give breakfast the short end of the stick. But there are ways to remedy that with a few easy tips.

A few breakfast tips

Try making your breakfast the night before, such as healthy oatmeal muffins that you can grab and go. Also, have portable fruits on hand, like apples, bananas or oranges—they travel well and are packed with nutrients. Try adding a little probiotic bonus to your morning and enjoy your favourite probiotic drink, also a great on-the-go item. With so many flavours available, you’re sure to find something that makes your taste buds sing.

The benefits of breakfast make it too important to miss. Eating healthy first thing in the morning can help set the tone for your diet all day, plus give you the energy to stay on top of your game. Eating breakfast can also help reduce hunger later in the day and will help keep your metabolism soaring, so you can beat that dreaded afternoon slump.

On your next grocery store trip, stock up on these few quick and easy items to arm you with what you need to bring breakfast back to life in your house—your family (and your tummy) will thank you for it.
